Reading comprehension in the library media center

This study reviews previously published literature that relates to strategies for building reading comprehension in the library. The benefit of teachers and librarians partnering and collaborating together to model and demonstrate strategies was also explored. After evaluating the literature the benefits of teaching reading comprehension strategies in the library were exposed. Students who were exposed to the reading comprehension strategies in their regular classrooms and the library were able to comprehend more texts independently and in a way that lead to a deeper level of comprehension.
