E-textbooks are changing the way teachers and students interact with information. Students are able to interact with their e-textbook by using features that are offered in many of the e-textbook platforms. The literature review shows students often do not take advantage of features available in an e-textbook. This indicates a need for school librarians to promote the effective use of technology resources by teaching students how to use these features. This paper will explore action research in a grade 7 Science classroom where students are introduced to an e-textbook for the first time. The purpose of this study was to examine if the role of the school librarian has an impact on how students effectively use e-book features and to determine whether students access the school digital library more frequently after learning about e-book features.
