This study focuses on how entrepreneurial women are represented by the print media, with a focus on The Kansas City Star newspaper. Various articles from consecutive years from 2007 to 2012 were collected and reviewed to investigate existent theories and specific attributes of misrepresentation or negative representation of women. The method used was a critical/textual analysis based on other studies done in the area, most importantly that of Hawes and Thomas (1995). Most of the articles collected revealed aspects of negative representation as revealed in the language, and in the descriptions of the women used in the articles. Entrepreneurial women are also significantly underrepresented in The Kansas City Star during the period studied.
